Our Commitment to the Environment

From the outset of Hanbury Wedding Barn we have worked hard to ensure that it is in harmony with the local environment. We are investing in renewable energy sources and between the photovoltaic solar panels, solar hot water system and biomass heating we aim that at peak 85% of our energy production will come from carbon neutral and renewable sources. We are also installing electric car charging points to keep you on the move.

Two new ecological protection areas will be created. One area of scrubland is being returned to its natural, wooded state, and the lagoon will become a haven for local bird and amphibian life. This, coupled with the planting of over one hundred metres of new hedgerow to create ecological corridors for birds, bats and other small mammals, means that Hanbury Wedding Barn will be as attractive to the local wildlife as it is to our brides and grooms.

We are also working with all our suppliers to ensure we reduce waste and our goal is to ensure as much recyclable material avoids the land fill as possible.
