It has been such an incredibly busy and rewarding few weeks with so much happening on the barns and grounds that it has been hard to keep up with all the changes.
First up our new entrance is well under way with the curved red brick walls taking shape.

With the cladding on the large barns all but complete, the rendering due to start next week. The transformation from its ramshackle state just a few months ago is extraordinary.

Not quite so sexy but just as important, the monstrous new sewage treatment plant is in. Currently filled with water to stop it “corking” while the concrete sets, the system produces environmentally sound waste that can be discharged directly into the local environment.

The old barns have seen the biggest transformation from their original state and the new roof and windows really bring some life back to these once neglected buildings.

Inside has seen big changes too, with the walls removed and new sky lights installed it now feels much more spacious. The construction has begun as well on the red brick pillars that will frame the room.

In the more modern barn the interior is starting to come together. Work started on the trusses this week with our resident craftsman building them on site. Hand made only, no off the shelf for us!

Bespoke iron work will fix the trusses in place.

The garden has also come on in leaps and bounds. The pathways have been marked out and the foundations laid for them as well as the footings for the ceremony area. Trunking has also been laid for the removal of the power lines.

Plasterers have been busy in the bar, kitchen and the bridal preparation area as well, which is really starting to take shape.

And finally, probably the most fun job, the wine tasting is complete! We should have our short list very soon with some excellent vino to chose from.

Major work continues through Easter so we should have another update very soon.
